Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Director, Owls Care Health Promotion - Boca Raton, FL

Summary of Responsibilities:

The OCHP Assistant Director works under the supervision of the Director of Owls Care Health Promotion to oversee sexual and reproductive health programming in complement with women’s health. The Assistant Director is responsible for developing programs, services, and initiatives that promote women’s health in addition to sexual and reproductive health for all students, build wellness skills, and educate the campus community.

Support student success by providing health promotion services that reduce personal, institutional, and community health risks.

Develop strategic plans, goals, and measurable objectives for programs and services offered by the Women’s Health Resource and Community Connection (WHRCC) Initiative in coordination with the sexual and reproductive health content area.

Plan, implement, and evaluate theory-based and evidence-informed programs and services that support health and well-being.

Conduct assessments to determine the impact of programs and services on student well-being and academic success.

Develop and facilitate community-building through women’s health programming.

Facilitate ongoing working relationships and build coalitions with student groups, staff, faculty and university departments that are dedicated to the health and well-being of students.

Encourage WHRCC partnerships with events and programs by student groups or university departments, and provide oversight and support to programs sponsored by the WRCC Initiative.

Serve on university and divisional committees.

Support departmental, divisional, and institutional activities related to onboarding, progress, and retention of students and graduation.

Create and disseminate educational materials and resources on a variety of topics relevant to women’s health and sexual and reproductive health.

Assist with outreach initiatives including maintaining the WHRCC content on Owls Care Health Promotion websites and WHRCC/sexual and reproductive health social media campaigns.

Assist with recruiting, training, supervision, and professional development for students who are engaging in student employment, service-learning opportunities, internship, and assistantship opportunities in Owls Care Health Promotion.

Keep current on national trends relevant to relevant to women’s health and sexual and reproductive health.

Research and analyze relevant literature and data to develop grant proposals and propose new program ideas or program changes.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience.

Degree in Public Health, Health promotion, Health Ed., Community Health, Higher Ed Leadership preferred. Experience developing, leading, and administering programs focused on women’s health and sexual health for all populations preferred.

Salary:

$48,000 per year.
