Assistant Director, The HUB - Office of the Provost

The Office of Enrollment Management comprises five functional areas, including The HUB - a one-stop student service center that provides individualized, professional and highly efficient enrollment services to students and families. The HUB and the other offices within Enrollment Management, including the Office of Admission, University Registrar’s Office, Student Financials and Enrollment Systems,, and the Office of International Education, work together to provide students, families and the campus community with student support and administrative services from the time of recruitment, to enrollment and all the way through graduation.

The HUB staff are responsible for delivering comprehensive services and counsel for matters related to financial aid, billing and payments, ID cards, and registration and academic records with the goal of supporting and enhancing Carnegie Mellon’s recruitment, retention and persistence goals..

We’re seeking an Assistant Director of The HUB to join the team! The role is responsible for providing enrollment-related support services and counseling to current undergraduate and graduate students and family members.

Core responsibilities include:

Provides comprehensive counseling to students and parents regarding the undergraduate and graduate enrollment and related processes. Respond to and resolve all inquiries from students and parents regarding University enrollment policies and practices. Review and resolve student enrollment and tuition issues.Counsels and advises students and parents concerning the financial aid process and eligibility requirements and resolves related disputes. Recommend and make arrangements for financing alternatives for students and parents. Evaluate financial aid applications, determine student’s eligibility for federal, state, and institutional grants, loans, and student employment financial aid awards. Advising students and families through the special and unusual circumstances process.Acts as liaison between Enrollment Management and specific colleges to assist colleges in understanding student enrollment processes.Establish and maintain relationships with students, families and academic departments within the college model.Design and deliver information and services to all students via presentations, webinars and tabling events.Advise on student account payments for tuition, fees, room, and board and resolve disputes. Create individualized payment arrangements with students. Manage assigned student caseload for student retention and persistence efforts.Evaluates processes, gathers data, analyzes alternatives, and proposes solutions to streamline services.Assists in the selection and training process of newly hired staff and work-study students.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree1-3 years of experience in customer service in addition to academic registration and enrollment experiencePrevious financial aid administration experience is highly desiredExcellent organization, problem-solving, reasoning, and interpersonal skillsA combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered
