Reporting to the Director for Leadership Annual Giving, the Assistant Director for Annual Giving will provide project coordination in the planning and development of comprehensive communications, marketing and annual giving strategies in support of the UAlbany Fund and the Division of Advancement with additional primary responsibilities. An interest in working in a higher education fundraising setting is essential to the success of this role.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Maintain primary responsibility for annual fund data coordination, including UAlbany Fund Engagement Center data and reporting, working with the advancement information management team to export and manipulate needed data, partner in identifying database clean up needs and trends, the updating of correspondence lists for digital marketing projects and other related data needs
+ Assist the annual giving team in detailed planning of fund development and annual solicitation programs by supporting the management of specific outreach strategies for multi-channel direct marketing campaigns (direct mail, email, social media) targeting diverse audiences (alumni, faculty and staff, young alumni and students), with the goal of reaching all possible solicitation constituents
+ Track and analyze annual giving fundraising efforts (participation and response rates, cost-per-piece, appeal effectiveness, clickthrough, average gift, etc.), suggest ways to improve overall effectiveness of the UAlbany Fund operation, and prepare applicable unit reports
+ Through data analysis and predictive modeling, coordinate and manage targeted annual giving donor communication strategies to address a variety of donor types including non-donors, upgrades, lapsed, recurring and major gift donors
+ Manage and coordinate the marketing calendar for the UAlbany Fund solicitations
+ Coordinate the UAlbany Fund vendor relations for direct mail, material bids, and annual memberships/contracts
+ Assist the annual giving team with research of best practices and implementation on new and emerging technologies and annual fund strategies in areas such as AI, texting and social media
+ Other reasonable duties as assigned

+ Strong written, communication, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and planning skills
+ Comfortable with segmenting and analyzing large data amounts of data

Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
+ 3 - 5 years of experience in annual giving in a not-for-profit setting OR fundraising/marketing/communications project management.

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
+ Familiarity with Ellucian/ Raiser's Edge, Anthology or similar databases, comfort with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
+ Experience in annual giving project management in a higher education setting.
