Summary:
The Assistant Director for Biomedical Advancement manages a disciplinary-focused fundraising portfolio in the life sciences of individuals, private foundations and corporations, overseeing identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities to support the Division of Biology and Medicine, including Brown Health Primary responsibilities include:
Cultivating relationships with key individual prospects at the leadership gift level $50K - $250K+ and the qualification of individual prospects at the $100K+ level to make 5-8 annual solicitations for gifts of $50K - $250K+
Developing, writing, and editing proposals, grant and stewardship reports, and other development materials to solicit gifts and grants from corporations and foundations to support the priorities of Brown’s Division of Biology and Medicine
Collaborating with Senior Associate Dean and Strategic Advisor, Executive Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, faculty and researchers to identify, coordinate, and develop strategic research funding opportunities.
The Assistant Director’s efforts will cultivate relationships that will pay off immediately through increased University support and over the long term as prospects are identified and cultivated for future major gifts and grants.
Job Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Required: Bachelor's Degree
Required: A minimum of 5 years of related professional experience.
Experience in higher education or the non-profit sector is a plus.
An understanding of fundraising, particularly in the life sciences or with professional schools is highly desired.

This position requires travel and the incumbent must be available to work some evenings and weekends.
