Assistant Director for Data and Technology
The UVA Career Center is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Director for Data and Technology. The Assistant Director provides sophisticated data and technology management and data analysis to support University Career Center programs and initiatives.

The Assistant Director will have significant focus on data projections and statistical analysis. Other responsibilities include: manage the design and programming of all data entry forms and the training and supervision of data/technology projects and student workers; oversee regular assessments including but not limited to the First Destination Survey and Summer Plans Survey; submit data reports on a regular basis and assist with various research project topics; and oversee critical hardware and software management for the Center including the facilitation of end user support, updates, and assessment/acquisition of new platforms and technology.

Job Description

Data & Assessment (65%)

Develop detail-oriented qualitative and quantitative analyses to include written documents, flow charts, presentations, and/or spreadsheets including pan-university projects like the First Destination Survey and Summer Plans Survey.

Develop design and programming of data entry forms, Qualtrics Surveys, and internal Career Center Hub (formerly Employee Handbook).

Monitor accuracy and completeness of data, maintain records, and generate reports.

Partner with career professionals on data projects. Coordinate, delegate and supervise the work of junior professionals, student workers, and volunteers.

Co-facilitate the UVA Career Center Assessment Team.

Conduct benchmarking research, both internal and external, across Grounds.

Data/Assessment Skills include:

o   Qualtrics and institutional-level assessments

o   ETL - Extract Transform and Load Administration

o   Qlik data analytics software

o   Tableau

o   Excel

o   Python/Data Analysis

o   SQL database

Technology Infrastructure, Event, and End User Support (35%)

Manage significant portfolio of software including assessment, adoption, and procurement of new platforms, in collaboration with team. Communicate with vendors.

Maintain inventory and procure new equipment. Troubleshoot equipment concerns.

Facilitate onboarding/offboarding of team members’ access and equipment.

Oversee event technology set up, in collaboration with Events Team.

Technical skills include:

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree with six years of experience, or Master's with at least two years of experience.
 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Significant experience with data analytics and technology in higher education; experience with Handshake or other CRM

 

POSITION DETAILS

Reports to: Executive Director for Strategic Planning and Initiatives.

Salary Range: $55,000-65,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a full time, benefited position located in the UVA Career Center in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium. Benefits package highlights include:
