Job Title Assistant Director of Admissions, International & Graduate Admissions Agency Texas A&M University - Texarkana Department Recruitment and Admissions Proposed Minimum Salary $4,541.66 monthly Job Location Texarkana, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description The Assistant Director of Admissions, International & Graduate Admissions reports to the Associate Director of Admissions and provides oversight, guidance, and expertise regarding the operations of International and Graduate Admissions. Salary Information: The expected salary for this position is $54,500.00 annually. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: International Admissions: + Serve as the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO), ensuring Texas A&M University- Texarkana students, staff, and university departments comply with all governmental regulations regarding hosting international students. + Advise and support international students, deans, faculty, and staff on F-1 immigration regulations. + Advise prospective students on immigration regulations and university procedures. + Review admissions applications, academic documentation, financial support documentation, and English proficiency documents to ensure appropriate decisions can be made to support the issuance of I-20 documentation or admissions decisions. + Monitor changes to immigration law and develop a strategic plan around regulation compliance communication. + Oversee and ensure updated web content related to International & Graduate Admissions. + Oversee the maintenance of international student records, databases, admissions related processing and other advising related administrative tasks, such as preparing memos, researching and preparing reports, budgeting, federal documents, and applications. + Represent the Office of Admissions & Recruitment on university committees, both internal and external, to contribute to decision-making and institutional development regarding international student recruitment, retention, and student success. Coordinate marketing and communication efforts for prospective international students, catering to both internal and external stakeholders. Ensuring improved communication and outreach to international students of all enrollment levels. Graduate Admissions: + Identify, recruit, and contribute to increasing the population of admitted and enrolled graduate students. Present information in group and individual settings for potential graduate students on academics, admission process, financial aid and scholarship programs, and career opportunities. + Works directly with applicants to submit missing documentation to support admission decisioning. + Ensure students are moving through the enrollment funnel efficiently by maintaining consistent communication. + Represent Texas A&M University-Texarkana at recruitment activities locally, regionally, and nationally. + This document represents the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and functions. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Minimum Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Six years of related experience. + Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. + Knowledge of College fair Programs. + Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Strong presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications + Five years of related experience in international student services, admissions, or recruitment + Prior travel abroad experience (personal and/or professional) + Effective interpersonal skills + Excellent decision-making skills (demonstrate ability to think critically) + Excellent organizational skills + Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution or experience working with Graduate Students. + Knowledge and/or experience in advising. + Experience as a principal designated school official (PDSO) and/or with SEVIS + Experience in higher education, international studies activities and/or programs + Budget development and/or management experience. + Knowledge of second language, preferably Spanish or Nepali Other Requirements + Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours. + Ability to maintain confidentiality. + Must be eligible to work in the United States. + Knowledge of immigration laws and regulations.
