Assistant Director of Adult Residential Services
Overview 

Developmental Disabilities Institute, DDI, is one of the largest providers of care to children and adults with Autism, developmental disabilities and other special needs. DDI has been a part of Long Island for over 50 years serving over 1,500 children and adults with Autism, other developmental disabilities and special needs. DDI provides innovative and expansive services to our population through various educational settings, residential services, day habilitation programs and vocational services. 

Salary Range: $72,000 - $86,400 / year

Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with all State, Federal, OPWDD, and DDI policies. Development of POCA as it applies to recertification surveys. Supervise managers and staff at multiple locations. Conducts hiring, firing, progressive discipline and performance evaluations. Oversee staff schedule, and run staff/Team meetings. Train new employees, hands-on and formally, as well as present at divisional new employee orientation. Provide annual recertification trainings. Participate in continuing education for self, and ensure same for managers and staff. Write and ensure implementation of Annual Program Plan, formal goals and protocols, Behavior Plans and all other components of the Annual Plan, ensure ongoing active treatment, and evaluate and revise, as needed, monthly progress of short-term objectives. Oversight of Operating Checklist, and all budgetary processes. Handle crisis situations according to Emergency Procedures, investigates allegations and serious reportables and completes all required paperwork as determined by Supervisor. Refers as appropriate to Division Directors and/or QA Department. Interface with parents and neighbors, and ensure individuals are integrated into the community. May require 24-hour on call duties. Active participation in meetings as required by Director. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required. Valid NYS Driver’s License with driving record approved to drive for DDI Strong supervisory skills. Strong knowledge of State, Federal, OPWDD, and DDI policies preferred.
