Collegiate Sports The Assistant Director of Athletic Communications coordinates information management and media production for all NCAA Division III sports. The Assistant Director of Athletic Communications reports to the Director of Athletics and Recreation, supervised by the Assistant AD for Strategic Communications and is responsible for all strategic communications including media relations, public relations, and digital media for the Centenary Department of Athletics and its 18 NCAA-sponsored sports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Assist with developing content for and executing the department's strategic digital
communications and social media plans
• Maintain branding and visual standards pertaining to the creation of graphics, photography, and
video projects for content creation/branding on digital and social platforms
• Create engaging content for the GoCentenary.com athletics website
• Promote assigned sports and general athletics events through all social media platforms
(Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
• Lead the coordination and training of student-workers and game day staff
• Assist and oversee live stream events, video projects, and photo shoots
• Work closely with other departments (marketing/PR, operations) in developing an overall content strategy for each sports program
• As an institutional staff member actively involved with NCAA Division III prospects, student-athletes, and athletic department personnel, this individual is responsible to uphold all conference
and NCAA rules and regulations. In accordance with NCAA bylaw 11.1, this individual is
responsible to report any known violations and will be held accountable for any violations
committed within the department for which they are aware and do not report.

Supervises student and game-day (temporary) workers.


QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty adequately.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

MINIMUM

Bachelor’s degree. Experience working in intercollegiate athletics OR communications Computer skills include superior proficiency in MS Office Suite, graphic design software (Adobe InDesign strongly preferred), photo/video editing software.  Working knowledge or ability to become proficient quickly with various statistical software
programs. Ability to work long hours, including weekends and holidays; willing and able to travel
occasionally.  Experience producing original written content in a news or related setting.  Must be able to work in a self-directed manner through the use of strong organizational skills.  Must be able to fulfill job requirements in a high-energy, high-traffic area.


PREFERRED 

Degree in Communications, Journalism, or Sports Administration.,  Familiarity or experience with advanced graphic design and photo editing software.  Experience with social media outreach and multi-media (video/audio editing).  2-5 years experience working in a collegiate sports information office.  Educational and/or work experience at a selective, private, residential liberal arts college.
