QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Excellent reading writing and oral proficiency in the English language.

Two (2) years’ college engineering or equivalent required.

Must be familiar with and have computer skills, Excel, Word, and AutoCAD.

Knowledge of blueprint drawings for all aspects of mechanical & electrical, HV, MV & LV systems.

A good understanding of civil and construction drawings and layouts.

Management experience of three years in a similar field.

Technical qualification in relevant subject/s to the above.

Knowledge of:

Building Management system, HVAC systems, Electrical system, plumbing system, Lighting systems, Fire alarm system, Security system and preventive maintenance software.Maintenance of civil and structure works and associated equipment.

Type of wood/timber, paint and varnish type.

Construction materials for structure and civil.

Knowledge of electrical distribution board, wiring, A/C and mechanical equipment.

Record keeping and report writing.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

The ability to support the site operations as needed in the position of Assistant Director of Engineering. Able to answer calls and respond to emergencies as they arise.

The ability to perform monthly property inspections to ensure buildings and grounds are maintained in excellent condition.

The ability to recommend and arrange for additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, replacement of equipment and major project / perfect villa program.

The ability to manage budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance and energy conservation.

The ability to do inventory of engineering store, raise requisition and purchase order on Birch Street.

The ability to communicate professionally with all other departments.

The ability to hire, train, manage, supervise, schedule, motivate, positively discipline and plan the activities of engineering department team members.

The ability to complete, evaluate and follow-up on employee performance reviews and    six month’s progress reports on a timely basis.

The ability to set up and ensure that effective and concise preventive maintenance schedules are followed.

The ability to plan and implement procedures, systems and controls to ensure an efficient, timely and pro-active engineering department.

The ability to communicate maintenance, repair and follow up information accurately and effectively to all staffing and management parties.

The ability to develop and update comprehensive departmental policies, procedures and manuals.

The ability to set maintenance contracts through budgeting and ensure satisfactory scope of work is completed.

The ability to ensure effective inter-departmental communication and good relations between the engineering team members and members of fellow departments within the resort.

The ability to ensure all public areas are patrolled daily and all lighting, fixtures, fittings and finishes are in good order. IF NOT ensure correct actions are set in place and follow up to complete the situation.

The ability to ensure all engineering team members are in complete uniform and well groomed.

The ability to ensure timely completion of all assigned responsibilities.

The ability to develop and maintain an energy conservation program allowing the hotel to meet its annual budget targets.

The ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner always reflects the high standards of Four Seasons Hotels and encourages staff to do the same.
