Extended Education Ventures (EEV) (https://extendedcampus.utexas.edu/) is a self-supporting unit within The University of Texas at Austin that enables the development, delivery, and promotion of continuing and professional education across the university.

Purpose
The Assistant Director of Enrollment and Student Services oversees the daily operations of the Enrollment and Student Services teams in Extended Education Ventures (EEV). The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting recruitment and enrollment processes for all programs administered through EEV, including non-credit professional development programs and non-formula-funded graduate degrees, guaranteeing a positive experience for the University’s non-traditional students. The scope of non-traditional students served through this team is around 7,500 and expected to grow to over 10,000 students in the next two years. The Assistant Director is also responsible for supporting the implementation of strategic initiatives, including identifying training, process, and staffing needs and ensuring the success of high priority initiatives as identified by the Director of Enrollment and Student Services and EEV Leadership Team.
Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations and activities of the Enrollment and Student Services teams within Extended Education Ventures. Recruit, manage, coach, train, and evaluate assigned staff. Develop and implement methods for evaluating performance and employee improvement programs. Develop operational guidelines, standards, and priorities. Manage unit work and processes/procedures to ensure positive results. Plan, implement, and monitor compliance with policies and procedures. Manage budget and perform cost and productivity analyses.
Provide leadership for the Enrollment and Student Success team, which supports the movement of prospective students through the recruitment funnel to conversion with a sensitivity for matching students with programs that meet their goals and in which they will be successful. Ensure accuracy and professionalism in all aspects of the student experience. Guide team in supporting individual students in coordination with the instructional team and/or student support units within the university, including by providing disability accommodations.
Provide leadership for the Student Services team, which is responsible for customer support, registration, payment processing, and testing for credit-bearing and noncredit programs. Supervise team manager, ensuring maintenance of quality standards and policy alignment. Oversee the approvals and processing for various sources of federal and state financial support. Manage escalated student issues such as serious grievances, academic integrity issues, and grade appeals in coordination with the course programming team and other relevant university offices. Serve as point of contact for institutional representatives to ensure the accurate processing of student registrations and questions.
Support Extended Education Ventures’ mission of enabling the development, delivery, and promotion of noncredit and credit-bearing continuing and professional education programs across the university by providing solutions and services for select UT Austin departments and units in the areas of recruitment, enrollment support, payment and registration, and non-academic support for enrolled students.
Contribute to strategic planning and implementation of high-priority initiatives and collaborate with other teams to achieve unit and organizational goals. Provide regular updates on the achievement of identified metrics. Oversee preparation of reports and analysis to improve processes and outcomes. Establish feedback mechanisms to ensure customer/stakeholder feedback. Monitor and encourage the proper use of technologies adopted within the unit. Demonstrate professional judgment and sound decision-making. Perform other related functions and projects as assigned.
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree. At least five years of work experience in higher education administration. Experience on an enrollment or advising team in a higher education setting. Experience supervising full-time and student employees. Basic understanding of academic, continuing, and professional education landscape. Customer service mindset, eager to identify and solve problems to enhance the student experience. Experience managing projects from idea stage to implementation. Ability to work collaboratively on a team, including serving in capacities beyond job responsibilities when needed. Very strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of audiences. Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills. Possess a high level of detail. Ability to self-start and operate with little supervision. Ability to respond under tight deadlines. Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office. Professional demeanor.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree. More than the required amount of experience. Experience supervising staff in an advising or recruitment capacity. Experience in a self-supporting or for-profit enterprise. Experience supporting UT non-formula-funded programs or other non-traditional student experiences. Experience working with online courses and/or programs. Experience with Salesforce.
Salary Range$79,178 + depending on qualifications
