No Duties and Responsibilities The Assistant Director is a critical member of the Financial Aid team, providing guidance to undergraduate and graduate students in all aspects of financing a Loyola University education.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Provide excellent customer service to students and parents via phone, e-mail, walk-in, and other forms of engagement regarding all financial aid matters Conducts file review, preforms professional judgement, completes verification, and updates award packaging as required including certification of loans and appeals. Monitors/maintains application statuses within the student information system Access federal and state systems (COD, NSLDS, GAP Access, FSA, etc.) to verify student aid eligibility Supports the Financial Aid Office by managing specific program area(s) such as R2T4, SAP, FWS, Scholarships, Consortium, Veterans, etc. Supports the University through presentations to various public audiences including FAFSA workshops, financial wellness programs, orientations, and other admission events. Collaborate with campus partners to provide a holistic approach to service This role is primary student facing and will be located at the financial aid front desk Supports and trains graduate student workers on areas of customer service and financial aid policy Performs other duties as required. Minimum Education and/or Work Experience Bachelor’s degree in related field and three – five years of related experience, or a combination of education and work experience . A solid knowledge of federal and state regulations is essential. Qualifications Required: Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills that adequately assess students’ needs and guide them to the appropriate university resources. Must exhibit energy and enthusiasm for working with students in a high traffic and faced paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse constituents and in a team based environment. Ability to work effectively with students in a holistic manner with enthusiasm for providing student-centered services Must be available to work some weekend and evening hours Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are a must Customer service experience required Ability to think critically with an eye for detail Adaptable to change Support students and families from all backgrounds Strong working knowledge of federal and state regulations is essential. Ability to prioritize work and adapt in a fast pace environment PeopleSoft experience highly preferred.
