Posting Summary Rutgers University-Camden is seeking an Assistant Director of Info Technology in the department of Instructional Design and Technology. This position leads the department of Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) at Rutgers-Camden. This role provides leadership for the Rutgers-Camden campus in pedagogical and technology support for instruction and in assessment of teaching and student learning outcomes. The Assistant Director works with faculty, program directors, department chairs, deans, and university administrators in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment at both undergraduate and graduate levels. This position strives to assure the highest standards of instruction, excellent and appropriate use of instructional technology and distance learning, and rigorous assessment of curriculum, instruction, and student learning outcomes at Rutgers-Camden. The Assistant Director serves as a campus resource in developing innovative approaches to teaching and learning through the use of technology, based on in-depth theoretical understanding of learning theories, instructional theories and their applications in higher education. The Assistant Director stays abreast of current research on teaching and learning and shares this knowledge with the campus community. The Assistant Director collaborates in the design and development of program and course curricular goals and materials; facilitates meetings with faculty and administrative teams about improving curriculum, instruction, and learning; introduces new teaching techniques and technologies; designs and develops faculty training programs; and leads and/or serves on various campus committees. The Assistant Director collaborates with other University offices and programs supporting teaching and learning and provides infrastructure and support for campus efforts to enhance teaching and learning. In addition, the Assistant Director contributes to division and campus strategic planning efforts, manages the department budget, and supervises instructional design and technology staff. Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week 37.5 Daily Work Shift Day Work Arrangement Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. FLSA Exempt Grade 07 Position Salary Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, within university policy and salary schedules, as well as departmental budgets.
