Position Summary:
The Jones Graduate School of Business is a top-ranked graduate business school with full-time, professional evening and weekend, hybrid, executive, and on-line MBA programs. The Assistant Director of Recruiting and Admissions will support the school’s recruiting efforts to bring in and yield the best incoming class of students for the Professional and Hybrid MBA programs. The Assistant Director, along with the Executive Director and the Manager of Recruiting, implements the strategic direction and objectives of the recruiting functions within the admissions department, which in turn supports the school’s growth while simultaneously maintaining its culture and quality standards.
The Assistant Director is responsible for working with the recruiting and admissions team to complete the full cycle admissions process in support of the MBA programs. S/he explores and implements practices and coordinates with the members of the Recruiting and Admissions team that allow the school to admit and yield the top talent to the Rice MBA family. The assistant director is responsible for not only the recruitment and admission of students, but also helps execute the yield of the most talented students. The Assistant Director should have a good awareness of a professional role across industries and be able to consult with them discussing education and career aspirations.
Ideal Candidate Statement:
The ideal candidate will be a results-driven and highly-motivated individual contributor, yet able to work with a team of equally dedicated staff to bring in the best students for the MBA programs at the Jones Graduate School. Previous graduate admission experience preferred but not required.
Workplace Requirements:
Hybrid position: Rice Business primarily delivers residential classes and activities taking place almost daily between 7 am and 10 pm. We value a highly collaborative and community-based culture, with expectations to provide in-person support and services to all members of our community. Remote work options are limited. Most employment activities are required to be performed in-person and on-campus. This in-person approach is central to the successful achievement of our research and academic missions.
This position may be offered as a hybrid role and may combine both in-office and remote work to provide flexibility and support collaboration. Remote work opportunities are possibly extended to the candidate following the successful conclusion of the probationary period

Annual Hiring Range: Minimum $50,000, with hiring salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. *Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree 2 years of related experience In lieu of the experience requirement, additional related education, above and beyond what is required, may be substituted on an equivalent year-for-year basis. Valid Texas Driver’s License (or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment) required with no more than three moving violations within the past 36 months and no convictions or deferred dispositions for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI) within the past five years. Related professional work experience in higher education admission, recruitment or administration, or experience in human resources, corporate recruiting, sales, or marketing Previous university recruiting and admissions office or administrative educational experience is highly desirable Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-functioning organization in the lead sales/recruiting role Slate, Salesforce, or other CRM experience Project management and/or digital marketing experience Data analysis skillsEssential Functions:
Conducts market research of assigned territories Establishes and maintains strong relationships with current and prospective students Responds to inquiries timely providing accurate information Conducts informational sessions for internal/external candidates on/off campus Works with other members of the admissions staff on projects related to communications, on-campus recruitment programs, internal training, general or targeted recruitment activities, or other projects as needed Reads, evaluates, and makes recommendations regarding applications utilizing the admissions rating system Ensures compliance with federal and state laws regarding college admission and FERPA Manages assigned geographic territory(ies). Domestic travel up to 10% of the time. Develops and strengthens relationships with university personnel, professional organizations, students, and alumni Coordinates onsite and virtual logistics for admission events; occasional nights and weekends may be required depending on recruitment event schedule Performs all other duties assignedAdditional Functions
