Job Description:
The Assistant Director of Nursing provides clinical oversight and support for the Nursing Department including the supervision, mentorship and evaluation of all Registered Nurses. In collaboration with the Associate Clinical Director and Associate Director, Operations & Administration, this position develops and maintains processes relating to University, State of Rhode Island, and accreditation regulations as well as the orientation and ongoing training for the Registered Nurses. Nursing responsibilities include direct nursing care, coordination of patient care in collaboration with providers and participation in special projects.
Job Qualifications
Education and Experience
BSN Required; Masters degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
Valid Rhode Island Registered Nurse license required.
BLS certification required.
Five years acute care nursing experience required, with a mix of ambulatory, emergency room and community health preferred.
Experience as a manager in a clinical setting and as part of a team of healthcare managers preferred.
College Health/Adolescent health experience preferred.
Significant experience working with an electronic health record.
Experience providing culturally competent care to a diverse population required; experience working with diverse populations preferred.
