OverviewThe Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing with the daily performance of clinical personnel by ensuring proper care is delivered to patients/clients. Serves as a resource to family and patients/clients with escalated issues. Monitors quality control, compliance, and overall performance of the unit.
Responsibilities Coordinates with and assists the Director of Nursing with planning, coordinating, delivering, and overseeing the delivery and outcomes of required healthcare related services/training programs on a routine basis in cooperation with operations management; monitors both skilled and non-skilled healthcare servicesDirectly supervises clinical personnelProvides clinical teaching and conducts performance monitoring, identifies, and reduces risksParticipates in the interdisciplinary team meetingsDemonstrates fiscal accountability by monitoring operations to ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures, state licensure and regulations, Medicaid, and Medicare standards, as well as state reimbursement regulationsLeads case conferences and other client-related meetings when the Director of Nursing is unavailableParticipates on the safety, infection control, incident review and human rights committeesFacilitates communication and serves as a liaison between and among nursing and direct care staff, family and/or guardians, and community medical providers and professional consultants in cooperation with operations managementProvides additional oversight to ensure completion and compliance of all client medical records, assessments, appointments and any other required medical services necessary per individual client needsSupervises, with the Director of Nursing, the implementation, coordination, maintenance, evaluation, and termination of care plan and services, analyses outcomes, medical records, and physician ordersMarkets company services in location areaAvailable as on-call nursing support and coverage to ensure facility compliance with staffing ratiosOther duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing and/or Executive Director Qualifications High School Diploma or GED; and Must have completed post-secondary education coursework to facilitate licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)Must have healthcare management experience with multiple age groupsExperience working with intellectually disabled individuals is preferredMust be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in good standing and currently licensed in the StateWorking knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations, agencies, and other governing sourcesExcellent communication with ability to handle concurrent tasks and responsibilitiesAbility to work as a part of an interdisciplinary team with respectful interpersonal communication skillsAdept problem solving skills and proactive work ethicModerate travel within assigned area About our Line of Business ResCare Community Living has four decades of experience in the disability services field, providing support to individuals who need assistance with daily living due to an intellectual, developmental or cognitive disability.
