Job Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for the clinical and operational management of assigned nursing unit(s). This role ensures that standards of practice for nursing and patient care are maintained. The position involves developing and implementing departmental plans and programs, supervising unit activities, and preparing necessary reports.

ResponsibilitiesManage the clinical and operational aspects of assigned nursing unit(s).Ensure nursing and patient care standards are maintained.Participate in the development and implementation of departmental plans and programs.Supervise and oversee activities within assigned units.Provide data and prepare reports on unit activities as required.Essential SkillsValid NYS Professional Registered Nurse LicenseCPR CertificationSix years of nursing experience with progressive growth in a managerial role, including a minimum of 2 years in a skilled nursing facilityProficiency with medical terminology and Sigma CareStrong communication and people skillsManagement skillsBSN from an accredited school of nursing preferred or equivalent combination of education and experienceAdditional Skills & QualificationsDemonstrates competency in nursing practice, administration, financial management, and personnel management.Evidence of leadership, creativity, integrity, initiative, and problem-solving abilities.Knowledge of healthcare labor relations, economics, and legislation.Ability to effectively communicate and constructively deal with stress and conflict.Evidence of the ability to plan, implement, and evaluate change.Work Environment

Located in the heart of the community of Washington Heights in Northern Manhattan, this 705-bed rehabilitation and nursing care facility is dedicated to providing quality care through diverse programs and services. The facility supports health and independence for individuals needing short-stay or long-term inpatient care. Shifts are from 7:30am-3:30pm or 3:30pm-11:30pm, with some flexibility required. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $180000.00
