Ensure projects align with institutional goals, budgets, and timelines. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, contractors, or designers. Must follow Louisiana State and LSU Shreveport Purchasing guidelines. Should be familiar with basic building systems, HVAC, flooring, wall or roof structure, plumbing and basic electrical. Provide updates during each phase of a project. + Minimum Qualifications + BS Management; may consider other 4-year business degrees + 2 years’ experience with construction or mechanical project management + Preferred Qualifications + BS Construction Management, + (2) years construction or (5) management + Experience with public procurement + Project or Facility management + Estimating/ Budgeting + Typical Responsibilities and duties + Track all projects through each phase, update progress to Director or others within the Campus Hierarchy. + Development/Planning/Project Coordination + Authorization + Design + Bidding + Pre-Construction + Construction + Commissioning + Close out + Development + Provide input with development of scope of project (evaluation of need) + Collaborate with staff and management to determine need. + Refine needs based on information from design studies, and budgeting. + Determine conflicts associated with construction, or scheduling suggest best course of action or best practices. + Develop schedules that consider the needs of students, staff, and budget. + Provides support for authorization of all projects above $75,000.00. Ensure all documentation is complete: designs, PM-60 authorization, and concurrences for project. + Capital + Small Capital + Deferred Maintenance + Monitors project progress through design. + Must be available for walk throughs in design. Provide details of intent or expectations of project. + Takes detailed meeting Notes. + Pre-construction + Take detailed notes. + Should be able to provide feedback related to details of the project, answer questions from contractors related to project. + Construction + Be able to read and understand construction drawings. + Provide insight and input about the project based on walkthrough, or design drawings. + Determine if contractor is following specification of the project drawings and scope while adhering to standards in typical construction, and safety standards as well as scheduling + Commissioning + Should be able to understand the value and validity of the commissioning process. + Close Out + Review project, determine if project meets the project scope + Relay concerns or issues that would hinder substantial completion. + Create punch list for items that need to be completed or touched up. + Maintain master list for capital and deferred maintenance needs for campus + Provide input on possible future needs. + Works with Facilities Director in developing lists and studies to determine or prioritize these future campus needs + Oversite of Small in-house projects: Less than $75,000.00 + Develop scope + Budget development + Bidding development + Construction inspection + Punchlist development + Commissioning/ Substantial completion + Project Close out + Ability to learn or utilize CMMS software Benefits for unclassified employees are determined by the individual hiring authority.
