We are searching for an Assistant Director of Sales who is eager for professional growth, excels at meeting high booking goals, and has a knack for generating new business for our hotel and tandem partnerships. As the Assistant Director of Sales, you'll have the exciting opportunity to sell 144,000 square feet of premier meeting and exhibit space, along with 255 hotel suites, all within a newly renovated property set to be completed by spring 2025.

Work Performed:

The ADOS will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the brand and management company’s policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, assisting, and directing activities; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Conduct and/or participate in the required company standard meetings, including but not limited to daily stand-up meeting, daily business review, weekly Sales Meeting, and weekly one-on-ones with the sales/catering managers, and Director of Sales.Assist the Director of Sales & Events with training and motivating sales managers and hotel staff with their job performance and knowledge, including general group sales principals, group function requirements, rate quotes, site management, sales call preparation and proposal/contract development.In the absence of the Director of Sales & Events, attend in-house management meetings and manage the day to day responsibilities of the sales office.Contribute consistent monthly sales production revenue and contribute significantly to the hotel’s production goals.  Develop and implement SMART Plans for all direct sales market segments. Track and communicate progress. Conduct prospecting & solicitation activities, including outside sales calls to cultivate existing customers and accounts and develop new business.Ensure systems are established and in place to respond to customer needs within a defined response period. These may include, but are not limited to: telephone inquiries, bids, proposals, confirmation of bookings, follow up communication, etc.Develop and maintain a clean funnel and activity tracing within the assigned sales system to ensure all sales activity is defined, recorded, traced, and updated in an organizedAny and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.

Qualifications:

Required Prior Experience:

At least five (5) years of hotel or industry related experience

Required Education:

Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hotel Restaurant, or related field. 

Required Technology:

Demonstrated experience with industry specific sales programs including Microsoft Office, Delphi.fdc, and/or CI/TY, particularly in detailing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)

Travel:

Less than 10% travel requirement. Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation and the ability to be available at off property meetings and events with minimal notice.

Physical:

Up to 8+ hours sitting at a desk and computer work

Other:

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
