Hotel Website, Instagram, Facebook Overview We're looking for an Assistant Director of Spa & Wellness to join the leadership team over our stunning Forbes 4-Star Spa, Tierra Luna! After a recent renovation of the space and offerings, this is an amazing opportunity to be a part of a talented team delivering a unique experience to our guests with cutting edge products and offerings inspired by the local culture and surroundings. The spa has 12 treatment rooms (indoor and outdoor), indoor and outdoor relaxation spaces, a cafe, contrast bathing (a hot tub and cold plunge pool), and one of the only freestanding outdoor Halotherapy rooms where guests can boost their immunity and cleanse their respiratory system. Want to know more? Click here. In this role, you will manage a talented team of 40 and report directly to the Director of Spa & Wellness. Effectively manage the day-to-day operations/scheduling of spa, salon and recreation outlets. Monitor spa POS/B4T schedule throughout the day for changes with a focus for maximizing revenue and proactively resolving scheduling conflicts. Provide weekly forecasts on spa revenue are submitted to finance and team member scheduling is entered in Hotel Effectiveness to ensure maximal productivity and minimal risk to budgeted productivity. Work with Spa managers and supervisors to produce weekly team member schedules in accordance with business demands. Proactively reduce or increase staff hours based on short term business pick up. Work with Sales and Marketing team on all definite group bookings. Point of contact for spa group activity. Sell and upsell spa programs to groups, working with spa management team in the respective areas. Oversee spa group coordinator and work closely to maximize group business bookings. Assist in the sales and marketing efforts of all spa promotions and programs. Ensure spa website is up-to-date with all pertinent information. Liaise with marketing department to ensure successful spa campaigns are supported and implemented. Ensure all spa operating supplies are maintained according to par levels. Enter orders into Craftable and adhere to budgeted expenses. Monitor all end-of-day accounting transactions generated in the spa, and acts as liaison between the spa and finance department to reconcile any disputes or discrepancies on a timely basis. Direct supervision of spa reception/reservations team members. Ensure smooth operations and communications throughout the spa related to daily operations, VIP’s groups, and other events. Ensure all guest opportunities are reported in Alice system and resolved on a timely basis. Ensure all safety and security protocols are updated and implemented. Conduct routine inspections of MSDS sheets as well as emergency equipment in the spa and fitness center. Ensure adherence to all Forbes standards related to spa, fitness, and recreation facilities and operations. Conduct daily walkthroughs. Ensure facility discrepancies are reported in HOTSOS and monitor resolution times. Review and approve all spa, salon, and recreation payroll on a bi-weekly basis. Ensure any discrepancies are resolved immediately. Interview and hire all applicants as needed. Train team members in proper performance of their respective duties and provide continual feedback regarding job performance. Assist with specifying spa retail and provide monthly reports on incentives and sell-through performance. Actively participate in all team member recognition programs and provide consistent recognition to team members Liaise with other department heads such as housekeeping, laundry, front office, concierge, and food and beverage to ensure smooth integration of all overlapping responsibilities. Perform duties of spa director as needed in the absence of the Director. Qualifications EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent. At least two (2) years of college education, preferred. EXPERIENCE Minimum of two (2) years of spa experience, required. Minimum of two (2) years leadership experience, required. Luxury spa experience, preferred.
