Position Summary/Description:
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

Reporting to the Director of Academics and Operations, the Assistant Director of Student Engagement serves as a primary point of contact for students in Master’s programs, including the Master of Accounting ( MAC ), servicing students in multiple delivery formats (campus and online). They provide counsel and guidance, working in a team environment to monitor students’ progress, intervene where appropriate, and refer students to seek assistance from various internal or external support mechanisms as necessary. They are responsible for building a sense of community. This position is responsible for managing key working relationships with constituents across the business school, campus, and the local community.
The Assistant Director ensures that students have all the necessary information and resources to enter and exit the program effectively. They are responsible for developing the orientation experience for both formats, including online courses and live presentations. The Assistant Director’s offboarding efforts prepare students for being engaged after graduation, providing the information they need to exit the program and become connected with other Kenan-Flagler alumni. This position is also responsible for surveying and analyzing student feedback. They recommend changes based on the analysis and in consideration of school strategy, competitive benchmarking, and the changing business environment.
Education and Experience:
-Master’s degree preferred with a preference for higher education.
-Experience in higher education student services and/or previous advising/coaching experience.
-Demonstrated ability to develop strategic recommendations.
-Experience with project management to deliver innovative programming.
-Demonstrated ability to use analytical skills and transform feedback into recommendations.
