Job Description

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions for Marketing and Events, the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions for Marketing and Communications oversees the planning and execution of the Undergraduate Admissions communication plan in support of the University’s new student enrollment efforts. The Assistant Director works closely with the Associate Director to plan and strategize traditional and digital marketing efforts designed to support our recruitment priorities and events/programming. This role has a comprehensive understanding of marketing and integrated communication strategies to optimize reach, constituent engagement, and the attainment of aggressive student enrollment goals. The Assistant Director contributes to the areas of researching, conceptualizing, producing, publishing, and measuring effective traditional and digital marketing and communications and participates in other recruitment and enrollment activities as assigned.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop sophisticated and sustained communication plans for prospective students to the University.

Assist in the creation, copywriting, evaluation, and deployment of Undergraduate Admissions email campaigns to prospects, applicants, admitted students, parents, and school counselors.

Create accurate mailing lists (queries) for digital, print and email marketing using Slate CRM.

Monitor communication effectiveness, reports on key metrics (CTR, open rates, etc).

Repurpose digital content for other communications, including but not limited to print publications, press releases, event communications, and video production.

Work closely with other departments to ensure consistency in recruitment material data and brand execution.

Interface with campus partners (faculty, department chairs, student development) to develop content and strategize on targeted communications.

Serve as the project management liaison to the Office of University Communications, ensuring timeliness of creative and deliverables. Utilize Wrike project management system to enter print, digital and video requests.

Work closely with leadership to align our recruitment and marketing efforts.

Work closely with the office leadership team to evaluate relationships with third-party vendors that generate inquiries and develop prospective student interests; serve as liaison to vendors as assigned.

Provide deliverables to lead generation, recruitment or marketing vendors as assigned.

Manage the Office’s social media reach; employ new and creative tactics for engaging with our prospective student population and their influencers.

Develop and execute content strategies for social media platforms.

Serve as a content editor for the Undergraduate Admissions webpages.

Regularly review the content of the Undergraduate Admissions website, make appropriate recommendations and edits, and develop new content for publication on this format according to the goals of the department.

Serve on ad hoc committees.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED: 

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Minimum two (2) years of direct experience developing and managing a communication plan.

Experience developing social media campaigns.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (written and spoken) to a variety of constituents.

Previous experience building and maintaining a complex communication plan with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is required.

Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed/required.

PREFERRED:

Experience in the areas of education, community outreach, recruitment, or marketing

Fluency in a language other than English

Knowledge of Slate CRM
