Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit UNC Greensboro supports students with intellectual and developmental disabilities through a Comprehensive Transition and Postsecondary (CTP) program while enrolled in Integrative Community Studies, a four-year certificate that emphasizes self-determination, life planning, and career development. Students completing requirements for graduation receive a certificate in Integrative Community Studies, awarded by the Office of the Provost at UNCG. Position Summary The Assistant Director for Transition oversees services provided to students enrolled in the ICS Program by working directly with students and their person-centered plans. This position will also oversee instructors, volunteers, interns, and graduate students who provide instruction and support for students (generally in the 1st and 2nd-years) of the Integrative Community Studies (ICS) Certificate Program. Minimum Qualifications Master’s in Human Services related field or a bachelors with 3 years experience. Two years experience in postsecondary education. Percentage Of Time 15% Key Responsibility Supervision Essential Tasks Supervise instructors, graduate students, interns, and volunteers. Percentage Of Time 40% Key Responsibility Internal/External Collaborations Essential Tasks Oversight of student “Person Centered Plans” (PCP) Collaboration with instructors around the creation of PCP’s including, but not limited to: Mapping Sessions, support meetings, action step planning and journaling Support Services – identify potential go to people for various aspects of the action steps in each PCP (should range from natural support systems to paid support systems) Assist with identifying campus and community resources and connecting to them. Oversight and assistance with scheduling (support coordination)

Campus collaborations. Oversight of campus collaborations such as (but not limited to): Your First Year, Students Success Office, School of Health and Human Sciences, Office of Leadership and Community Engagement, Housing and Residence Life and other campus collaborators addressing non-routine matters as they arise. External collaborators – Establish and support formal partnerships with Health and Human Services agencies. Percentage Of Time 40% Key Responsibility Departmental Support Essential Tasks Provide instruction (CTP coursework as assigned). Participate in the admissions process through committee facilitation, application review and input, admissions input and communication. Implementation of transition related programming (for incoming and existing students) Participate in the management team through participation in regular team meetings. Assist with departmental documentation and action plan development as needed. Insure consistent implementation of policies and procedures. Responsible for maintaining accurate departmental records and providing training to instructors, graduate assistants, interns and volunteers. Collaborative development and implementation of assessments (team approach with director(s) and coordinator(s)). Program of Study (POS) assistance Provide curriculum feedback as a member of the advising team, through implementation of evaluation tools for coursework. Recommend adjustments to curriculum and program of study as appropriate. Oversight and assistance with scheduling (academic courses) Participate in UNCG SOAR orientation for new and transfer students. Act as an academic advisor to students to maintain and support students in their Plans of Study (POS) Provide family support focused on transition related areas through departmental & university programming. Communicate with families based on concerns that may arise. Ensure student satisfaction by handling student concerns, requests and complaints of a routine manner. Involve the Associate Director or Director with non-routine or unresolved matters.

Emergency Management first line of communication by being the on-call/on-duty ICS representative who will facilitate communication with campus partners and external partners.
