As an Assistant Editor you will help us shape the future of Stats Perform News’ industry-leading sports content, helping to drive fan engagement for a range of global media outlets, broadcasters and portals across a range of sports.
This is a hybrid position in London, UK.
This role includes working hours in the evenings and at weekends.
Responsibilities:
The role will form part of a team driving the news and content agenda across our output, with responsibility for sourcing the best raw footage and assets to allow our production teams to create engaging and dynamic storytelling. You will monitor, supervise and coordinate the ingest process of our global content network on a day-to-day basis. You will respond to the global sporting news agenda as it happens, driving our coverage as stories break to source relevant footage and content assets. As part of a team responsible for the planning and execution of the daily news agenda you will maintain, monitor and update our event coverage calendars, arrange video crews, and disseminate coverage information to our production teams, both in London and around the world. A key part of the role will be building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally, including updating our online contact lists, carrying out interviews, organising and executing video shoots, and liaising with content colleagues around the world to decide production priorities and shape output.
Role Requirements:
First-rate knowledge of a wide range of sports, including expertise in both football and US Sports Experience as a video journalist. Strong understanding of video production workflows, including video ingest and delivery. Superb project management, planning and organisational skills. Excellent news judgement, honed with at least two years’ previous experience in a journalistic environment. An ability to drive engagement through creative storytelling and be comfortable working with data as a form of storytelling. Willingness to work flexible shift patterns in line with the global sporting agenda, including evening and weekend work Exceptional communication skills, including an ability to engage with stakeholders across the organisation on different time zones and working in different languages.
