Starting Salary: $94,500.00

Under general supervision, assists in the oversight and management of the EEO Division by assisting in the administration and implementation of the City’s Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Violence in the Workplace (VIW) Policies, and performs related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

· Reviews investigation documents, including complaint intake notes, investigation plans, interview questions, and investigation reports; consults with EEO Investigators and EEO Officer to determine the best course of action.

· Monitors cases and works with EEO Investigators and/or EEO Officer to troubleshoot complaints to close out cases in a timely manner; identifies roadblocks and implements procedures to avoid delays in the investigation process.

· Manages and implements the City’s VIW policy by providing guidance to departmental liaisons and reviewing documents and reports to ensure the VIW policy is being implemented accordingly.

· Manages and oversees the intake and assessment process, ensuring complaints and concerns are received and addressed in a timely fashion; assigns work to staff.

· Updates and maintains a case management and tracking system with appropriate information (e.g., case code, witness information, description of documents).

· Works closely with other departments to manage cases (e.g., Department of Law). May serve as primary contact with the Department of Law for cases that have shifted to external venues such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

· Research relevant policies, rules, and laws (federal, state, local), that apply to cases under investigation.

· Stays abreast of federal, state, and local laws, as well as court cases and trends regarding discrimination, harassment, case management, and best practices.

· Assists in the development of policies and procedures.

· Conducts training programs and workshops (e.g., diversity and sexual harassment prevention).

· Prepares case status reports and maintains performance metrics Additional duties may be required for this position.
