Under the direction of the Head Equipment Manager, Olympic Sports, the Assistant Equipment Manager, Olympic Sports is responsible for assisting with the management and oversight of the equipment operations for 15 men’s and women’s sports competing as members of NCAA DI and the Mountain West Conference.

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Marketing, Management, HPER, HES, Sports Management, Recreation, Education, Economics, Liberal Arts, Communications, Sociology or any other field related to responsibilities and duties. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a collegiate athletic equipment room; comparable experience in a professional sports league will be taken into consideration. Current Certification by the Athletic Equipment Manager’s Association (AEMA) required, including good standing within the AEMA, or must have the ability to become certified within 18 months of employment. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required, preferably NCAA Division I. Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively across a broad spectrum of constituents. Ability to effectively convey ideas and information in a variety of written, electronic and verbal forms. Outstanding problem-solving skills including the use of key tools such as critical thinking, deductive reasoning, logic and creativity including the ability to apply this knowledge to real world applications. Strong computer skills including a complete working understanding of the most commonly used Microsoft Office Suite applications and programs. Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date. The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the time of hire. The department will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
