Responsibilities Serving as a consultant, coach and supporter to facilitate problem solving and accomplishment of Applegate Field Office goals and programs. Interpreting departmental and bureau policy and directives and making final field office planning and program decisions, including resolution of both long range and day to day planning and program conflicts. Developing, implementing and managing a wide variety of resource management programs including wild horses and burros, wildlife, livestock grazing, fuels, recreation, and lands. Setting priorities and schedules for completion of work in collaboration with employees. Monitoring work to ensure team members complete their tasks effectively and efficiently. Responsible for the Applegate Field Office Budget and Target Accomplishments Responsible for administration of a variety of management programs such as safety and EEO Overall supervisory/managerial responsibility for a large staff in multiple disciplines, including hiring, training, development, performance, and overall organization effectiveness. Conducting a viable and open public relations program. To qualify for the GS-12 grade level, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-11) in Federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as demonstrated experience in workforce and strategic planning, identifying issues, resolving conflicts, and negotiating solutions. Oversight responsibilities for administrative and financial management functions, as well as managing or supervising a variety of different program areas, such as resource management, budget, or human resource functions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements within by the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604.
