The Windsor Corporate Office is currently seeking an Assistant Fit Technician to join our buying team. The duty of an Assistant Fit Technician is to accurately articulate modifications to vendors and the buying team at a rapid pace. The role does not insist on being a seasoned technician, but one that is willing to learn and be mentored. The following duties and qualifications are what is needed to make each sku fit to our customer.
Duties:
Fit each sku that has been ordered by the Buying Department. Must be comfortable processing a high volume of skus daily Effectively communicate and suggest fit corrections to buyers in line with their design and style preferences Articulate and write detailed instructions needed to improve the fit and/or quality via email and include detailed photos with descriptions of adjustments needed. Drawing on photos is required Maintain a consistent fit following a Windsor standard Manage fit sample comments and approvals for multiple departments Keep samples organized throughout the dayQualifications:
Minimum 2 yrs. experience with fits and/or technical design and/or product development Experience creating and/or modifying patterns either in a professional or personal setting (not required but preferred) Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools. Experience with building tech packs. Garment construction knowledge. Strong understanding of textiles and fabric properties. Understanding of fashion trends and the ability to predict future styles. Ability to work well within a design/buying team Careful attention to the small details of a design, such as stitching, fabric choice, and fit. Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Organized with the ability to keep track of designs, fabric samples, and production timelines. Awareness of fashion trends, market needs, and consumer preferences. Strong communicator verbal and written Problem solver Ability to give garment measurements (not required, but preferred) Ability to grade garments accordingly (not required, but preferred) Identify potential production, quality, design and/or costing issues (not required, but preferred)Physical/Environmental Demands and Overtime & Availability:
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or a small amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Adequate movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Team members are required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
