The resort was named the “Jewel of the Desert” since its opening on February 23, 1929. This gorgeous 39-acre property reopened in May 2021 after undergoing a $150 million restoration and has over 700 rooms, over 200,000 square feet in banquet space, and 8 food and beverage outlets (including 2 restaurants, 2 bars, 2 poolside bars, a gelato shop/café, and in-room dining). Hotel Website, Instagram, Facebook Overview As an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, you would be responsible for the overall operation of food and beverage service and day-to-day management of Cup & Cone, the pools, and cabanas. The primary focus will be on Cup & Cone managing a team of 7-8 Baristas and assisting with the pools and cabanas managing a team of 50-60 reporting directly to the Senior Food and Beverage Manager. Specifically, this includes the following duties: Lead, organize, plan and direct all restaurant employees in a style that is acceptable to the Hotel's management philosophy. Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained during hours of operation and that labor standards are met. Hire and train team members of Cup & Cone. Ensure proper training procedures according to hotel policies and specific needs of the restaurant, bar and pool areas. Handle payroll, tip reporting, attendance reports and check handling. Ensure the highest level of service and emphasize importance of local and hotel guests. Track the above and keeping records of guest information to ensure proper guest recognition at all times. Ensure uniform standards, cleanliness and proper care of all supplies and equipment, along with a high standard of food and beverage quality and consistency. Cup & Cone is where childhood dreams are made of with frozen classics with a Sonoran twist. This café serves grab-and-go items, handcrafted coffee beverages, and homemade gelato. Paradise Pool is our family friendly pool with an incredible triple 65 feet water slide, 15 indoor air-conditioned cabanas, and a swim up bar. The Saguaro Pool is our adult pool for 21+ serving as a refreshing oasis and chic gathering space. The contemporary yet tranquil setting has 8 private cabanas, 5 daybeds, and a bar. Both pools serve artfully crafted cocktails and a fresh eclectic cuisine. Qualifications At least two (2) years of food and beverage leadership experience Prior management experience, preferred Luxury hotel experience, preferred Experience in a pool operation, preferred Coffee Shop experience, preferred Maricopa County Food Handlers Card CPR and First Aid Certification Fun, outgoing and energetic personality Team player Takes initiative Proactive Passion for creating unforgettable experiences Driven to grow within food and beverage
