A Assistant General Counsel contributes to AHF by providing legal counsel to AHF. The ASG performs complex legal work in areas including civil litigation (the primary focus of the work); contract and policy drafting and review; advice and counsel; and legal/regulatory compliance.

To be successful as a General Assistant Counsel it is crucial to ensure that the AHF Core Values and Mission stay top of mind with all that you do. AHF has a collaborative organizational structure where staff are accountable to multiple leaders.
The Assistant General Counsel will work as a part of a close-knit team to respond to legal issues as assigned by AHF's General Counsel and works with and counsels various AHF management teams to develop business and legal strategies and solutions. The ASG will represent AHF, as plaintiff/petitioner or defendant/respondent, in all advocacy forums, including jury and non-jury trials, arbitrations, and appeals. The ASG will prepare AHF employees for appearances in these forums. The ASG also may draft, review, and advise on contracts, memoranda of understanding, and policies and procedures, as well as educate and train AHF employees about those documents and related legal issues. The ASG is expected at all times to negotiate on behalf of and represent AHF in a professional and strategic manner.
Licenses and Certifications: Requires a law degree (JD) and State Bar of CA
