Assistant General Manager

Position Summary: The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will assist in the execution of the daily operating plan and management of a multi-temperature, technology-driven, highly customer-focused warehouse. Successful candidates will be recognized as the next generation of Martin Brower Operations Management leaders. Immediate and Future Willingness to relocate as needed to a Martin Brower location for purposes of career advancement is a core requirement of this opportunity. Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: Lead and Ensure a safe working environment for all employees in 24/7 warehouse environment Provide direction and leadership to the Transportation Manager and Warehouse Manager Execute company processes successfully to ensure 100% compliance, ensure annual performance goals are met or exceeded Participate in the development of budgets, P&L Statements Present at customer and employee meetings Foster a work environment that maximizes employee involvement, morale and engagement Ensure quality standards are achieved for all good shipped and received Promptly solve problems to the maximum satisfaction of our customer(s) Participate in, contribute to and potentially lead various committees, such as quality and safety Travel up to 20% for annual meetings or other Distribution Centers as needed Be a champion of change, contribute to the strategic direction of facility initiatives Willingness to relocate throughout the organization for promotional opportunities Other projects or duties as assigned Qualifications Required Skills and Experience: College degree in business, finance, economics, or operations related discipline 5-7+ years of related industry experience Self-motivated and disciplined team player Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to creatively solve problems in a fast-paced environment Sound organizational skills, capacity to prioritize and multi-task to ensure deadlines are met Exhibit a sense of urgency and focus on results Demonstrate business and financial acumen, experience managing budgets and P&L statements Professional self-presentation skills, ability to interact effectively at all levels Proven track record of developing successful customer/business partnerships Demonstrated ability to anticipate business needs, think proactively and respond appropriately Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite with intermediate Excel skills Willing to relocate as needed to any of Martin Brower locations This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test Preferred Skills and Experience: Master’s Degree Food Distribution experience a plus Physical Demands and Work Environment: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
