Raintree Country Club is seeking an Assistant Golf Course Mechanic. Must have experience with small engine repair. Position will require grinding reels. Experience in reel grinding a plus. This position will report to the head Mechanic.   Under the direction of the mechanic and/or the assistant golf course superintendent, the assistant mechanic and/or works independently of the mechanic in the repairing and maintenance of various gasoline and diesel-powered golf course maintenance equipment. The assistant mechanic also assists in maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building, contributes to a preventative maintenance program, and places safety procedures as a top priority.   Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Mechanic: Overhauls and repairs maintenance vehicles, mowing equipment and other power equipment.  Lubricates and services all equipment. Inspects equipment for operating deficiencies and makes routine adjustments where necessary  Maintains up-to-date understanding of hydraulic systems, repairs and their components. Inspects, changes and repairs tires. Assists in controlling tool access and use by maintenance staff. Cleans working areas after repair work is completed. Assists in fabricating, body repair and painting. Adjusts cutting units on mowing equipment. When servicing of equipment is complete, will assist on maintenance crew and may operate mowing equipment. Assists in training the maintenance staff in the proper care and upkeep of the golf course equipment. May be called upon to operate or train to operate various types of maintenance equipment. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. Performs other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications for the Assistant Mechanic:   Certificate from college or technical school Must have 2 plus years’ experience with small engine repairs and maintenance. Must have valid driver’s license.

Must be a quick learner and able to work in a fast pace environment. Regular and reliable attendance.

Raintree Country Club is a 36 hole private golf course managed by Troon Prive and located in South Charlotte near the Arboretum. This is a Full-Time 40 hour a week position offering Medical, dental and vision, 401k and uniforms.
