Assistant Golf Professional

Position Summary:

POSITION SUMMARY:  

Assistant Golf Professionals are responsible for supervising the golf operation while on duty. Daily activities will include supporting the golf shop cashiers by assisting with golfer check-in, retail purchase transactions, inventory procedures and retail display standards. They will work closely and manage the outside operations team to ensure superior service and amenity standards are always in place. The Assistant Professional is expected to take on any role within the golf operation when needed and is responsible for complete supervision of the operation in the absence of senior golf leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Work with managers and associates to achieve both financial and experiential goals as set forth by the companyProvide superior guest service through assisting guests with purchases, providing facility information and making reservationsPerform opening and closing duties for the operationAssists in overseeing the daily golf operationsAssist with training of new associates and providing ongoing development for existing associatesWork closely with the Outside Services Lead to ensure high quality service and amenity standards are being maintainedCommunicating associate performance concerns to the head professional in a timely mannerOwnership of all par stock level ordering for supplies and consumablesAssists with the facilitation of golf groupsAssist head professionals with scheduling of staff and maintaining associate recordsAssists in managing golf pro shop retail staffEnsures all merchandise levels are maintainedEnsures golf pro shop is kept clean and organizedCompletes daily financial and rounds reporting as directedPerform player development and instructional programming as directedPerform regular inspections of the service and support areas to ensure all areas are being maintained in accordance with Big Cedar Lodge standards.Enforces policies of Big Cedar Lodge.Maintain accurate records for the golf shop with special emphasis on spreadsheets, check register, bank status, etc.Adhere to all rules and regulations established in the standard operation procedure manual for Golf Shop and BCL/Bass Pro Shops.Report all incidents of guest dissatisfaction to the head professionalReport all accidents/injuries that occur during the execution of Golf Shop business or on Big Cedar Lodge property through proper channels.In the absence of the head professional, responsible for resolving guest concerns to their fullest satisfaction possibleIn the absence of the head professional, responsible for complete supervision of the golf operationOther duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or EquivalentPGA Apprentice enrolled in PGA/ PGM level 1 or abovePrevious experience with a golf facility operation, specifically with a retail operationCollege degree preferredStrong service skillsAbility to work in fluid, evolving golf operationStaff supervision experienceStrong interest in advancing career into a head professional roleAbility to work on feet for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to work in all weather conditions
