Full job description Assistant Veterinary Hospital Manager - Waterville Veterinary Clinic - Waterville, NY   Who we are: At Waterville Veterinary Clinic, our growing hospital consists of 12 veterinarians supported a large cohesive team of well-educated licensed veterinary technicians, assistants, and client care representatives.    We are seeking an Assistant Veterinary Hospital Manager to help lead our beautiful hospital only 20 minutes from Utica, New York. Waterville is one hour from Syracuse and two hours from Albany. A quick scenic train ride will bring you to New York City, or a 30 minute drive north will bring you into the beautiful Adirondack Mountains for an outdoor escape.

  Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role: Coach, manage, and develop a team of leads. Manage daily staffing levels, moving labor to increase efficiency and support departments with gaps in staffing. Assist the leads in implementing training plans and updating SOPs for every department. Help train all employees to advance their clinical skill sets. Create effective onboarding plans and training for all new employees and track their progress. Oversee leads to ensure they are proactively creating schedules for all departments and effectively managing call outs and break periods. Act as the primary source of information, maintain consistency. Partner with the Hospital Manager and managing DVMs to assist with process improvement projects. Develop and implement strategies to enhance the hospital's reputation. Provide support to clients. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers to foster trust and collaboration. Manage inventory control systems and order products and equipment. This role is exempt. Compensation is between $50,000 to $59,000 annually to commensurate with experience. Basic required qualifications: College degree and five years of progressively responsible work experience, or the equivalent combination of education/experience. Experience managing a facility and multiple direct reports. Experience manage inventory. Excellent leadership, management, staff development, problem-solving, interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills. Comfortable with ambiguity and change management. The ability to deliver results, create strategic plans, develop staff, and the desire to develop and progress your knowledge and skills. Schedule flexibility to effectively operate in a 24/7, 365 days a year work environment.   Desired Experience: Leadership background. Veterinary experience is a plus, but not a requirement. Work schedule: Full-Time with flexibility in covering shifts to consider hospital needs.
