Assistant Housing Manager
Job Description Under the direction of the Assistant Director, the successful candidate will ensure, with some latitude for independent judgment, that all Leased Housing Department, Client Services staff receive ongoing professional, technical, administrative training and development. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Utilize case review, supervisory feedback and recommendations to develop staff training to improve performance 2. Deliver instruction in the completion of tasks for the Housing Choice Voucher program (i.e. recertifications, lease renewals, transfer, restorations, etc.) 3. Create, design, compose, write and deliver training material. Revise and update training programs; design and write training manuals and materials, including e-learning content. Create PowerPoint presentations. 4. Keep up to date with policies and procedures and provide innovative ideas to effectively train staff. 5. Research and identify appropriate training courses for staff. 6. Conduct needs analysis for staff training (i.e. creating and distributing surveys, conducting focus groups). 7. Provide data on areas of improvement for staff as a result of case review and training. 8. Collaborate with various NYCHA departments to ensure training information related to job duties and work environment are current. 9. Facilitate training via online and in person training program. 10. Perform related administrative duties. 11. Other duties as assigned. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and one year of full-time satisfactory supervisory and/or administrative experience in housing management at a development or developments containing at least 150 apartments, including overseeing the performance of duties such as: interviewing applicants; determining eligibility; gathering and evaluating information to resolve complaints; collecting rents; and/or resolving tenant related problems; or 2. A four -year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, and five years of the full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above; or 3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience as described in "1" or "2" above. Undergraduate college credits may be substituted for experience on the basis of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for one year of full time satisfactory experience. However, all candidates must have a four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent.
