About the Position:

As our Assistant Kitchen Manager, you are an ambassador of the Square leadership teamdemonstrating excellent hospitality for both guests and team members throughout the front of house, back of house and Coffee Roasting station. You will help strengthen team engagement, maximize team productivity, and drive business results for the Square.

What You'll Do:

With the kitchen manager, direct, manage and assist all functions of the Square and demonstrate excellence for your team and guests, including:

Ensuring all guests are greeted and proactively assisted in an engaging manner with accurate and timely information Having the knowledge to make product/service recommendations to guests and accommodating their special requestsManaging order guides/ordering deadlines for all ingredients, supplies and beer and wine for the SquareProperly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levelsManage product to reducing shrink/damageForecast and maintain store teams by collaborating with the Kitchen Manager and Talent Acquisition in the sourcing, selecting, hiring and training of new team membersHelp build sales and profitability of department Partner with the Kitchen Manager to write and manage weekly schedule for team members in the Square to ensure a superior guest experienceSupport the kitchen manager in managing sales, profitability, margingenerated in the Square Help to create food production schedules to ensure all policies and procedures are followed to ensure food safety and quality Conduct weekly inventory reviewGuarantee the cleaning schedule is followed for all cases within the SquareEnsure merchandising of product is consistent with plan-o-gramsCertify that equipment is maintained properly, serviced regularly and any maintenance issues are communicated in a timely manner Provide weekly feedback to the stake holders on operating the Square to make any necessary adjustments quicklyEnsure that your team members are adhering to The Fresh market standards and policiesEnsure department adherence to all safety requirements and protocols, including food safety, per TFM policies, and per lawAvailability:

To meet the needs of our stores, guests and teams, this position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings and occasional overnight and holiday work.

Qualifications:

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

3 plus years of experience as a front of house restaurant manager within the retail, restaurant, or hospitality fieldProven oral and written communication skills that allow for productive communication with your team, management, and guestsHigh School DiplomaMust be at least 18 years of age **with the exception of Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio must be at least 19 years of ageMust have passion for cooking delicious, healthy and safe foodMust have high standards for food quality and customer satisfactionKnowledge of local, state and federal food and health department requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, Nutrition or Hotel/Restaurant Management is highly desirableRetail, Culinary and/or Grocery experienceProduction Planning Software experience

Physical and Work Conditions

Repetitive hand/arm movements, grasping, bending, reaching, ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds by oneself, exposure to extreme temperaturesAbility to use tools equipment: knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipmentRequired to spend long periods of time on feet and stand or walk without a break (for up to 4 hours or as required by law)Required to wear approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment
