We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Assistant Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling specimens, preparing them for laboratory testing, and ensuring data accuracy and quality control. This role requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Receive and properly handle specimens.Prepare specimens for laboratory testing.Enter data and perform quality control of sample information in a LIMS, including scanning documents to support testing.Review test requisition forms and shipment manifests to ensure documentation matches samples received.Resolve sample and document discrepancies, working with team members as needed.Ensure customer satisfaction throughout laboratory processing.Facilitate specimens to the appropriate workflows for downstream testing.Act as the primary customer contact for all laboratory tests, including clinical, pharma, and clinical trial testing.Ensure all customer needs are met from kit and sample delivery to final reporting and end of testing deliverables.Maintain a complaint log documenting any customer issues and notify leadership of all perceived issues and complaints.Ensure that policies and procedures in the area of responsibility reflect current practice.Maintain accurate logs representing current samples in for testing.Perform quality checks on all deliverables to customers and partner with other employees for a second QC check when required.Support incoming and outgoing sample shipments.Train other personnel as required.Essential Skills
High School diploma required; Associates (AA or AS) degree strongly preferred.1+ year experience in a similar role or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.Minimum of 2 years customer service experience required.Proficiency in computer skills, such as word processing, Excel, and information systems.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and HIPAA.Knowledge of working with potentially biohazardous specimens.Knowledge of medical terminology.Positive can-do attitude and the ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and evolving work environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications

The work environment is a laboratory setting, with standard hours of Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm. The role involves handling potentially biohazardous specimens and requires adherence to regulatory compliance and HIPAA guidelines. The dress code is professional attire suitable for a lab environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50
