**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Review test results and consult with Center physician on any unusual, abnormal, or elevated test results and non-routine situations in addition to all medical incidents which must also be reviewed by Center physician.
+ Supervise laboratory staff and prepare daily work assignments.
+ Perform some laboratory assays.
+ Maintain and review records.
+ Schedule/perform instrument/equipment maintenance and QC
+ Assist Attending Physician with immunization scheduling.
+ Maintain the proficiency testing program.
+ Purchasing/Inventory control.
+ Train laboratory personnel.
+ Any other duties as required by Supervisor.
**JOB SPECIFICATIONS:**
+ Minimum Education of a 4 year Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology
+ 6 years of pertinent clinical laboratory experience of which at least 2 years were spent in a clinical
+ laboratory with a Director at the doctoral level
+ Must have a NYS License in Medical Technology
+ Required to complete 12 hours of continuing education credits to maintain the NYS license
+ Previous work experience should demonstrate adaptability to changing priorities, excellent attention to detail, legible handwriting and the ability to deal effectively with people
+ Ability to prioritize duties on a monthly cycle
+ Ability to work with a variety of personalities
**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS** **:**
+ Ability to sit or stand for up to four (4) hours at a time.
+ Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to fifty (50) pounds.
+ Ability to operate computer software including SLDD (with training) and Microsoft Office.
+ Be able to bend, stoop or kneel.
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
