Disney Consumer Products (DCP) is the division of Disney Experiences that brings beloved brands and franchises into the daily lives of families and fans through products – from toys to t-shirts, apps, books, console games and more – and experiences that can be found around the world, including on the Disney Store e-commerce platform and at Disney Parks, local and international retailers, as well as Disney Store locations globally. The business is home to world-class teams of product, licensing and retail experts, artists and storytellers, and technologists who inspire imaginations around the world.
The Assistant Manager, Marketing & Commercial, National Geographic role will work with the National Geographic APAC Consumer Products team to drive the brand in the region and support the retail store roll-out across multiple markets.
Our team is responsible for:
Championing the National Geographic brand values in APAC as the regional brand custodiansDelivering the National Geographic retail store AOP and LTP numbers through close partnership with licensees, local teams and internal stakeholdersDriving consistency in the National Geographic retail experience across diverse markets and modelsEmpowering and supporting local teams and other regional functions to better understand the hero brand generally, and the retail program specificallyCollating and sharing activities across APAC through structured templates that capture all aspects of business across all markets, including marketing, PR, sales, earned revenue, store openings etc.Connecting with our stakeholders and our stakeholders with each other, using our strong relationships to foster a culture of sharing and support within our store network and with our regional and global internal functionsResponsibilities:
National Geographic Stores
Overseeing new and emerging store markets by supporting from pitch through to executionOn-boarding partners through connecting with all relevant functions including retail, Product Development (PD), International Labour Standards (ILS), etc.Championing needs of these markets with regards to information gathering, approvals – one stop shop for any questions regarding their statusDriving a meeting cadence to maximise visibility and supportEstablishing and maintaining consistent templates and processes for new partner information trackingSupporting with administrative set ups, such as URL establishment and allocation + SRR on-boardingOwning relationships with key stakeholders in the wider National Geographic ecosystem, including National Geographic UX and the magazine teamNational Geographic Wholesale Partners
Driving National Geographic wholesale partner business, specific focus on: Cubic Fun, JJ&C, Vitec, Guangzhou Jinghua, RDP, Dr CoolPartnering with local and regional category teams to identify and support white space pitches, e.g. stationery, STEMAdvocating for wholesale business opportunities within all store accountsTracking YOY performance and leading JBP discussions for regional partnersRequirements:
Minimum 5 years' of experience in marketing or commercial rolesExperience in licensing and/or fashion retailPassion for the National Geographic brandAbility to work across time zones and with diverse stakeholders both in APAC and globallyProficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with Mac aptitude preferredResponsiveness and ability to prioritiseGreat attention to detailProactive and positive attitudeExcellent communicationThe Walt Disney Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
