Purpose
Contribute to the success of the GWO Tax Reporting team for globally held assets across various Scotia entities. Ensure individual goals and initiatives align with team strategies and comply with regulations, policies, and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank resources. Serve as the main point of contact for client tax inquiries and provide expertise in QI tax compliance. Oversee tax treatment and tax form production. Maintain policy and procedure documentation to meet IRS and internal audit requirements. Reconcile and analyze income and tax procedures, ensuring satisfactory audit and regulatory reviews. Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external clients. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure proper withholding procedures for US source income. Assist management with compliance reviews and certifications. Act as a subject matter expert in Scotiabank client tax compliance, overseeing tax slip production and distribution. Protect Scotiabank’s reputation by adhering to compliance and risk frameworks. Ensure operational efficiency of the Tax Reporting Department. Analyze annual tax campaign activities for regulatory reporting. Provide high-level customer service to internal clients, including Scotia Capital, Wealth Management, and Custody Services. Manage risk and ensure effective internal controls. Consider the Bank’s risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decisions. Ensure business controls meet operational, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF, and conduct risk obligations. Contribute to a high-performance and inclusive work environment.
