Position: Assistant Manager (Community Team)
Pay: $21-24.75
(Plus, $2.00/hour Weekend Differential for weekend hours worked between Friday 11PM and Sunday 11PM.)

Location: 15 Christy’s Drive, Brockton, MA Hours: 40 hours per week
Dept/Div: Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS)
Supervised by: Program Director
General Statement of Duties: To provide rehabilitation services to persons being served within ACCS and to do so in a manner that promotes growth, independence and dignity for those individuals served.
Responsibilities:
Direct Care
1. Attend to the daily needs of persons served on an individual basis as well as foster increased independence and self-determination.
2. Deliver interventions identified on Treatment Plans weekly in person to assigned caseload, with mentoring from licensed clinicians.
3. Teach socialization skills and Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s), which include but are not limited to household maintenance, laundry, grocery shopping, food preparation, medication management, money management, personal care, exercise, transportation, problem solving skills, time management, and safety/self preservation.
4. Follow the Department of Public Health’s (DPH) Medication Administration Program (MAP) policies, which include, but are not limited to training requirements, medication administration, medication security, and corresponding documentation.
5. Supervise and document consumer self-administration of medications as prescribed by a physician in accordance with agency and program procedures.
6. Facilitate opportunities for group and individual community-based activities.
7. Fulfill case management responsibilities as assigned by supervisor, including those related to medical and legal concerns.
8. Inspect all BAMSI leased apartments and intervene as needed to ensure a clean, safe living environment for persons served.
9. Participate in meetings as required by supervisor, in person and virtually.
10. Transport individuals served to and from day programs, medical appointments and other activities as required.
11. Act as individuals’ advocate and role model.
Communication, Documentation & Teamwork
12. Follow funder and agency protocol for reporting significant incidents and alleged abuse and/or neglect.
13. Record data by the conclusion of each shift. Documentation requirements include, but are not limited to daily service notes, financial records, medication records, and treatment team communications using email.
14. Facilitate and document self-preservation testing, suicide screening, and other assessments as instructed by the program manager or designee.
15. Oversight and tracking of annual training: fire safety, disaster, Human Rights and Self-Preservation for staff and persons served.
16. Ensure person served safety and compliance with program standards for staff coverage, including tracking weekly staff face to face visits for all persons served.
17. Maintain knowledge of ongoing program issues and developments as well as informing supervisor of program issues and concerns.
18. Ensure the program vans are maintained and fill the gas tank weekly.
19. Communicate in a professional and respectful manner.
20. Assist with training and orienting employees new to the program.
21. Treat all individuals, employees, and visitors with respect and dignity.
22. Attend and participate in scheduled staff meetings and supervision check-ins.
Other
23. Follow funder regulations and adhere to all BAMSI policies.
24. Understand and utilize universal/standard precautions and instructions on how to stay safe in areas that constitute risk, including following persons served Risk and Safety Plans as applicable.
25. Obtain required training within allotted time frames.
26. Complete all other related work duties as needed or as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
· A bachelor’s or associate degree in human service field plus experience working with a disabled population; or
· High school diploma or equivalency and four years’ work experience with a disabled population, two years of which must be with a mentally ill population.
· Basic computer literacy, including the ability to record data, use electronic medical records, use electronic time and attendance software, and receive and send electronic mail, is required.
· Effective listening and critical thinking skills.
· A valid driver's license in state of residence and satisfactory driving record.
· Ability to speak and write English clearly and accurately to keep documentation up to date and understandable.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with persons served, families, service providers and funding source personnel.
· Ability to reach, bend, stand, sit, and walk; perform fine motor activities.
· Preference given to candidates with lived experience and fluency in languages prevalent in Southeastern MA
