Technical Operations/Maintenance

Job overview and responsibilities

The Assistant manager of Engine Overhaul and Repair is responsible for the oversight of daily operations, supervising and coordinating of all maintenance functions on shift at the assigned location, ensuring these activities are performed. Ensuring these activities are performed safely, under schedule requirements and in compliance with all established Company, regulatory and manufacturing procedures. Provide appropriate resources and holds leads and technicians accountable for the work assigned/performed. Sets expectations, gains commitment and mentors current and new supervisors. Provide technical guidance and interpretation of company policies/procedures to assist employees in performing functional tasks.

Oversight of daily operations, provide leadership and direction to leads and technicians to maximize productivity and cost controlUnderstand strategic planning and ensures adequate staffing to support operational needsAssess and delegate the appropriate work per requirements to Leads and TechniciansBuild /reinforce a far and respectful work environment by consistently applying CBA work rules and company policiesLead and help implement station change management initiativesIdentify issues and engage in structured problem-solving to assist technicians in accomplishing workExecute station performance goals and objectives aligning with divisional and company goalsBackfill for manager when neededMaintain a high awareness of operational, safety and human resource-related performance objectivesAs appropriate, provide leads, technicians and Supervisor with regular coaching, feedback and recognition, as appropriateCommunicate effectively to ensure priorities are understood and acted upon, with precise turnover for continuity across shiftsImplement and sustain continuous improvement and oversee the safety and security of work group operations to ensure regulatory compliance with technical operations activitiesConduct peer safety and accident review boardsConduct “routine” investigations, as appropriate, into performance, safety (damages and injuries), complaints and other work issuesMaintain a high level of communication with employee groups within the stationReport status of operations, highlighting significant events to leadership while providing direction to assigned stationpersonnel to ensure station and divisional objectives are achievedProvide technical guidance and interpret company guidelines and procedures to assist employees in performing functional tasksProvide supervisors, leads and technicians with guidance, leadership, direction, coaching, meaningful feedback and recognition as appropriateSet expectations regarding performance standards for supervisors and technicians, gain their commitment under Company guidelines and CBA (if applicable)Provide technical guidance and interpret company guidelines and procedures to assist employees in performing functional tasks and to ensure that safety, security and services are delivered consistentlyAssist with career action planning, goal setting and employee development including but not limited to assisting Manager/Director (if applicable) with mid-year end-year performance reviews of Supervisors

The salary range for this position is $100,783 - $147,815

Associate degree or 2 years of relevant work experienceFAA AP CertificateMinimum 5 years experience in engine maintenance industry with 2 years in a leadership roleKnowledge of planning and execution of maintenance operations, leading a team of maintenance personnel, advanced computer skillsExtensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations and applicable FAA regulationsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
