DescriptionPrincipal Duties And Responsibilities Assist the Housekeeping Manager in planning, organizing, and directing the overall operations of thehousekeeping department.
Supervise and train housekeeping staff, ensuring they adhere to established policies and procedures. Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensurecleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
Coordinate with other departments, such as Front Office and Maintenance, to ensure efficientcommunication and resolution of guest requests and maintenance issues.
Assist in developing and implementing housekeeping procedures and standards to ensure a clean, safe,and comfortable environment for guests and employees.
Monitor and control housekeeping expenses, including labor and supplies, to ensure budgetary goalsare met.
Assist in conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback to housekeeping staff. Assist in maintaining inventory of housekeeping supplies and equipment, and place orders as needed. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hotel policies. Handle guest complaints and inquiries in a professional and timely manner. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in housekeeping operations. Other duties as assigned.Work EnvironmentThe work environment for the Assistant Housekeeping Manager is primarily indoors, within the hotel premises.
The role requires frequent interaction with housekeeping staff, other hotel departments, and guests. The
Assistant Housekeeping Manager may also need to visit various areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, public
areas, and back-of-house areas, to conduct inspections and oversee operations. The work environment may be
fast-paced and demanding, requiring the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Physical Demands:
Standing and walking for extended periods, as the role involves frequent movement throughout thehotel premises.
Lifting and carrying heavy objects, such as cleaning supplies and equipment, as needed. Climbing stairs or using elevators to access different floors of the hotel. Manual dexterity and coordination for operating cleaning equipment and tools. Ability to push and pull carts or trolleys loaded with cleaning supplies.Preferred Education And Experience High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field ispreferred.
Previous experience in housekeeping or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, and equipment. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficient in using housekeeping software and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
