Assistant Manager- Internal Auditor

Hino is an OEM that assembles trucks in West Virginia, manufactures automotive components in Arkansas, and operates a parts distribution center in California.  

We are currently seeking an Assistant Manager- Internal Auditor, located in the corporate office in Novi, MI reporting directly to the Manager, Internal Audit. Responsible for leading and executing assigned audit and advisory activities under the direction of the Internal Audit Manager. Responsible for demonstrating skills in identifying and assessing process risks and controls; documenting business processes; identifying and evaluating the design and operational effectiveness of controls; and developing, executing, and documenting audit tests and workpapers.

Key Responsibilities:

Obtain a broad understanding of HMM’s business, operations and processes to enable risk-based auditing.Evaluating the current SOX 404/J-SOX testing plan to ensure completeness of controls to address financial reporting risks and appropriateness of test procedures including detailed tests of design, tests of effectiveness, and substantive testingReview internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards.Performing ad hoc projects as assigned to assist Internal Audit in analyzing HMM’s risk and control environmentEstablishing relationships with business leaders while conducting individual auditsIdentifying root causes, articulates their relevance, and provides meaningful recommendationsMonitor and track the implementation of remediation activitiesAbility to travel 15% of the timeOther duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study - Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Finance, Information systems4-6 years of audit experience, internal or external, including SOX 404 and/or J-SOX requirementsUnderstanding of risk and control concepts and can apply knowledge to business processesCPA, CIA, CISA, or CFE certification preferredKnowledge of COSO framework preferredIT general controls testing experience preferredKnowledge of Enterprise Risk Management and Operational Risk Management concepts preferred
