JOB SUMMARY
The Patient Connection Center Assistant Manager supports leadership with the management of Patient Access Specialists who are responsible for pre-service and financial clearance activities. These activities include appointment scheduling, referral completion, authorization for visit, pre-registration, and registration. The Patient Connection Center Assistant Manager will have emphasis on patient service excellence, workflow accuracy, and adaptability and flexibility utilizing active listening skills. The Patient Connection Center Assistant Manager will hold individuals accountable to deliver on established goals, utilize good judgement to assess and escalate situations, and affect change in a consistent, standardized, and effective manner. This individual interacts with leaders encompassing revenue cycle and clinical operations staff, clinical and physician leadership, information systems, external contacts, and patients regarding Patient Access processes, policies, and procedures. The Patient Connection Center Assistant Manager acts as a leader building constructive relationships and supporting department leadership in developing, setting, and executing department goals.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: Associate degree or a minimum of 60 post-secondary credits in a business, management, healthcare administration or related field.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Three years’ experience in business, healthcare administration or related area, to include a leadership role that demonstrated personal leadership effectiveness and team‐building strategies.
Preferred/Optional: Two years’ management experience in revenue cycle functions for a large integrated (hospital/physician) health system.
