JOB PURPOSE

This role is responsible for direct and indirect tax matters under the supervision of Head of Tax. Key tax areas of responsibility include Tax Risk Management, Tax Litigation & Controversy, Business Partnering, Tax Reporting & Compliances, and Financial Central Cost Recoveries (FCCR), etc.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

Business partnering on tax matters; identification and assessment of tax planning opportunities, advising the relevant stake holders, and ensuring implementation.

Working with local treasury and the FCCR central team on FCCR agreements.

Review of changes in foreign exchange regulations and related tax requirements and ensuring their compliance.

 Ensuring the validity of FCCR agreements and exceptional approval for non-standard rates.

Ensuring tax payments on FCCR and Dividends are made on timely basis, as per respective double tax treaties and local laws.

Monitoring of sales tax paid under reverse change mechanism for their adjustability.

Computation of quarterly advance tax liability, applying for exemption certificates and refunds, and ensuring timely advance tax payments.

Handling of Ekaterra pre-SMF and SMF period tax issues and litigations.

Determining implications of OECD guidelines including Pillar II.

Continuous Monitoring of the effective tax rate - actual vs forecasted.

Assessment of Tax Risk and Uncertain Tax Provision (UTP) as per UTP global policy.

Handling of Tax audits and inquiries with respect to Transfer Pricing issues etc., preparing and providing necessary documentation and supporting schedules.

Coordination with EY for preparation of local files in accordance with Transfer Pricing rules.

Responsible for local and global tax reporting in accordance with IFRS and group guidelines.

Coordinating with external and internal auditors.

Monitoring compliance with direct and indirect tax control frameworks and ensure preparation and filing of sales tax and income returns.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

Qualified Chartered Accountant

Post-qualification experience of 4+ years

Experience across corporate tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing

Skills

Strong knowledge of federal and provincial tax laws

Proven experience with SAP and MS office

Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems

Understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques, and financial management concepts

Thorough knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements

Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for accuracy

Ability to maintain detailed financial records, reconcile accounts, and identify errors or discrepancies

Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously

Strong work ethic and ability to work well under pressure
