Day to Day Responsibilities
Responsible for developing, interpreting and implementing financial concepts for Manufacturing financial planning and control in Budget/Forecast/Actual process. Performs technical analysis to present Manufacturing performance and Cost. Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements, operating forecasts, etc. Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems. May refer to establish precedents and policies. Exhibits strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong network for problem solving. Participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plans, schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Demonstrate influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. Builds relationships and networks. Effective cross-functional teamwork. Serves as resource to manage technical area of expertise.
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree (10 years) in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration Prefer MBA and/or CPA. 5 years of relevant experience; preferable Manufacturing/Cost Accounting experience Controller experience (within or outside Corning) desired Proven knowledge of US GAAP
Required Skills: Strong financial and accounting background Deep understanding of financial controls Ability to interact and communicate well with all aspects of the business. Strong Excel & PowerPoint Skills Ability to be creative in providing financial solutions to business leaders.
