Position Summary:
The Assistant Coach reports to the Head Soccer Coach. The Assistant Coach is responsible for providing coaching and administrative assistance to the Head Soccer Coach. The Assistant Coach is expected to adhere to the philosophy and objectives of the Athletic Department and the Head Soccer Coach. You will be required to live on campus, to provide evening support in dorms, provide access to facilities and study hall of the student-athletes.
Primary Duties:
- Teach the fundamentals of the game; - Instruct, plan, organize and implement all practice schedules and game strategies; - Advise and monitor student-athletes academic progress.
Secondary Duties:
- Track student athlete academic progress, including but not limited to supervising study halls, arrangement of travel schedules/meals, and setting up practice times for road trips; - Ability to successfully recruit highly competitive student athletes; - Other duties as assigned by the Head Men’s Soccer Coach and Athletic Director.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge of the day-to-day operations of an athletics department; - Proven record in following directives and being responsible for tasks, which have been assigned; - Experience and competency in a leadership role within the classroom are preferred; - Experience with computers and video editing a plus.
Reports to: Head Men’s Soccer Coach
Hours: Nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary
