What You'll Work On
Applying high quality scientific techniques in the microbiological analysis of raw ingredients, in-process production samples, finished product testing and environmental monitoring, to ensure that all products manufactured are fit for useComplete appropriate documentation, audit and release of commodities or productsComplete housekeeping responsibilities including autoclave, waste disposal, general laboratory sanitation, etc.Ability to prepare media for test proceduresDemonstrate accountability and responsibility for Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) performance and compliance through active participation and support of Abbott’s EHS Program.Partner with fellow technicians, with a high degree of motivation, attention to important details with clear communication to all team members. This is important due to the high degree of responsibility and working within a small group where each person is relied upon highly.Do all testing in the lab through instruction via manuals and through trainingProblem solving when test results are out-of-specification to assign a cause and rule lab errorThis position is accountable for complying with applicable FDA (GMP), USDA, OSHA and Abbott regulations, policies, procedures or guidelines.
Shift
The hours are 6:30 pm to 7:00 am on a rotating schedule which provides every other weekend off.

WEEK 1:
WORK: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday: 6:30p - 7:00a.
DAYS OFF: Wednesday AND Thursday.
WEEK 2:
WORK: Wednesday & Thursday: 6:30p - 7:00a.
DAYS OFF: Monday, Tuesday AND Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma / GED1 year of appropriate college science with lab (biology, microbiology, chemistry, physics, environmental sciences, organic chemistry, or biochemistry)1 year college mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, or calculus)Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors or Associates Degree in science related field2+ years laboratory experienceExperience in a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environmentIn compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. The base pay for this position is $18.65 – $37.35 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
