Consistent with mission, philosophy, and policies of Loyola University Health System, the Assistant Nurse Manager OR, Inpatient will demonstrate clinical leadership and support patient focused care for defined services, patient areas or population. Additionally, he/she maintains accountability to fulfill staff nurse position. They will participate in and chair committees, projects or other activities as delegated by the Manager or other Medical Center administrators. Recognizes and consistently applies knowledge of Loyola's 14 Magnet Forces.
The Assistant Nurse Manager will be responsible for two procedural areas - the Cath Lab and Operating Room, and Anesthesia.
Position responsibilities:
Develops and participates in staff development, education and counselingactivities in collaboration with the Manager. Participates and functions as a role model as appropriate and agreed upon with the Manager.Coordinates daily operations of the department with the Clinical Director of Anesthesiology to maintain established staffing guidelines and productivitystandards.Demonstrates a clear understanding of the unit budget, productivity standardsand utilizes this information to make appropriate decisions - Monitor and address environmental and physical conditions of unit/service area(s) to maintain a safe and clean environment for patient, families and staff. Identifies barriers to providing patient care and collaborates with Manager and A.D, to resolve any problems. Contributes to the development and implementation of policy for the department or service line to reflect LUHS goals and regulatory compliancy.Utilizes time and resources effectively to promote quality and cost outcomes.Demonstrates accountability for professional growth and job performance by seeking opportunities to enhance job skills and knowledge.Contribute to the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the service line or department as directed by managerRequirements:
Associate's degree in Nursing required. Bachelor's degree preferred.1-2 years of previous job-related experience, 3-5 years preferred.Basic Life Support (CPR).Current Registered Nurse license State of IllinoisACLS (Advanced Cardio Life Support Certified) preferred.Nursing - CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) preferred.At MacNeal Hospital, we know you’re more than your job.
