Assistant Nurse Manager - Cardiac Prep/Recovery

The Cardiac Prep/Recovery Unit at Main Campus sees pre- and post-invasive cardiac procedure patients. As Assistant Nurse Manager in this department, you will interact with a diverse patient population, with many being transferred from both home and inpatient settings. Some of your daily responsibilities may include fulfilling administrative, clerical and practical tasks for the Nurse Manager. As a member of the Cleveland Clinic system, you will also gain access to a wealth of educational, professional and personal development resources to enhance you skills. **A caregiver in this position works days from 6:30AM - 7:00PM.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit staff and other departments and units regarding issues related to patient care. + Ensure continuity of patient care information between shifts. + Coordinate patient admitting, discharges, transfers and other operational issues. + Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers. + Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of nurses and other direct and indirect patient care providers on assigned unit/area. + Counsel employees on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions and collaborate in monitoring attendance issues. + Alert Nurse Manager of significant clinical or other performance issues. + Participate in interviewing, selecting and appraising the performance of employees. + Monitor the adherence to EEO/AAP goals and guidelines. + Administer Nursing Institute, departmental and CC policies and procedures. + Supervise and participate in the daily delivery of patient care on assigned unit/area. + Prepare schedule of work assignment assuring adequate coverage on all shifts. + Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives. + Participate in department and committees as assigned. + Assist in orienting new personnel, continuing education and in-service educational programs. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) + Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) + Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing + Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) + Two years of recent clinical nurse experience Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
